MERCY AND GRACE ©

I was headed for destruction

Showing no reluctance

To end my life in such disgrace

But since I heard the Savior call me

His judgment won’t befall me

For I witnessed His mercy and grace…

Not getting what I deserved – that’s mercy

Getting what I didn’t deserve – that’s grace

A sinner condemned and so unworthy

But God sent His Son to take my place!

He gave me life eternal

Instead of hell’s inferno

Joy that time cannot erase

And when I knelt at that old altar

He gave me living water

And granted me mercy and grace…

Are we so short-sighted that we can't see

The souls that are dying 'cause we don't believe

That we must tell them or they'll never know

We must show them the right way to go...

Are we so ungrateful for all God has done

By sending His only begotten Son

To die for our sins on Calvary's Tree

To open blind eyes and set the captive free...

Jesus, please help us

To be more like Thee

Living each moment

In light of eternity

Forgetting our own

Sorrows and cares

Sharing the Gospel

To those in despair

Lord help us to be

More and more like Thee

Are we so absentminded that we can't recall

The words that Jesus spoke to us all

Saying, Into all the world now go

Are we so indifferent that we can't feel

True compassion and love that is real

For those who are hungry, hurting and lost

Satan is the God of this ol' sinful world we're in

He's the ruler of the darkness, but he's coming to an end

All that's in the world is the lust of the eye

The lust of the the flesh, and the pride of life

Jesus said love not the world, nor the things that are therein

For lust, when it hath conceived, bringeth forth sin...

And you can have it, I don't want it

It don't mean a thing to me

All the pleasures of this sinful world

And all it's vanity

Well you can have it, I don't want it

It don't mean a thing to me

I'm layin' my treasures up in heaven

Where they'll last for eternity!

Success, prosperity and power is the new gospel today

But Jesus said, take up your cross and die to self is the only way

And He said in the last days men's hearts would fail for fear

The love of many would wax cold and many antichrists would appear

When all these things come to pass, lift up your head, redemption's nigh

Behold He cometh with the clouds, and we'll meet Him in the sky...

Like that eternal place of torment

And Lord, there's no other way

Satan paints a pretty picture

Staying young and getting richer

A life where you can have nothing but fun

But though sins pleasures are for a season

There is coming a day of reapin'

When every man shall give account of what he's done...

There are people oh so dear

To my heart, living down here

Though I love them, there's One dearer still

For He gave His life for me

So that He could assure me

Eternal life if I do His perfect will...

On the path where many meet their doom

To that place where the roses ever bloom...

FAITH THAT GOES BEYOND THE GRAVE ©

Now Job was a just man and upright in all his ways

Oh but God allowed Satan to take his children all away

And though boils covered his body, his friends heard him say

Yet in my flesh shall I see God one of these days...

There's a faith that overcometh

While we live day by day

And there's a faith

That goes beyond the grave!

Elisha had a double portioned anointing on his life

That didn't seem to stop even though he had died

For in his grave, some men threw another corpse there to hide

But when he touched Elisha's bones, he came alive...

Though they buried Jesus' body and for 2 days he was dead

On the third day He arose, just like He had said

And because He is risen, our faith's not in vain

We too can have a faith beyond the grave...

THE NEXT TIME WE GATHER ©

With His disciples, Jesus ate the Last Supper

And said, Together, we'll not feast anymore

"Till someday, we shall dine forever

When we meet on that heavenly shore...

And I can't wait 'till the next time we gather

At the great banquet table so fine

And I can't wait till we commune together

I can't wait to hear Him say, Come and dine!

He said each time that we take Communion

With wine and the breaking of bread

We remember, how for our healing, He suffered

And for our sins, His own precious blood He shed...

WHY DON'T YOU GIVE IT TO JESUS? ©

Friend are you tired

Are you heavy-laden

Bearing a burden

Facing a test

Why don't you give it to Jesus

He's the great burden-bearer

He'll take your burden

And give you rest...

Just remember God's promise

Though Satan may try as hard as he can

For if God can hold the rivers, He can surely hold me

Oh what blessed assurance, such strong security...

He holdeth me up in the palm of His hand

And when trouble comes, that's why I can stand

Nothing in this world can separate my God from me!

Though His hand is against the wicked every day

That same hand is a shelter to me when I pray

How He holds all His children, I'll never understand

But one thing is certain, I'm in the palm of His hand...

God met with with Adam in the cool of the day
